VMCAS

The Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) is the main application system most vet schools use. Instead of filling out separate applications, you can use VMCAS to send one application to multiple schools at once. It covers everything from your classes and grades to experience hours, essays, and recommendation letters. To help make the process a little easier, we’ve put together a few PowerPoints that walk you through the important parts; seperating types of experiences, logging your hours, and examples of current and past E-Board members' experiences. These resources are here to guide you step by step and make applying to vet school feel a lot less stressful.

VMCAS Experiences

Pre-Vet Survival Guide

"Step out of your comfort zone and get as much experience as you can whether it is in veterinary medicine or not! It can be just as valuable to learn that you dislike something as it is to learn that you love it. Take every opportunity that you can to learn something new."
"Ask for letter of recommendations early! I asked mine in May and asked for it to be done a month before the VMCAS deadline."
"Research schools early! Every school has different admissions requirements and processes. It is important that you complete all the prerequisites to prevent any issues with your application."
